This involves identification of suitable sites for borehole/ well drilling as per the Water resource management Authority.

Borehole condition assessment, groundwater recharge, groundwater quality assessment, determination of groundwater abstraction patterns and borehole density etc.

We use of ABEM Terameter SAS 1000 series for to carry out this survey which can distinguish between clays and fresh water by use of Induced Polarization (IP) measurements. We employ Vertical Electrical Sounding and Horizontal Electrical Profiling as well as other geotechnical survey techniques.

Adherence to WRMA requirements in terms of Borehole completion reports; we issue to our clients all the necessary documents and devise the geological logging works for the purpose of borehole registration.

The purpose of test pumping is to estimate the yield of the borehole. Water is continuously pumped out for 24hrs at specific rates and measurements taken after certain intervals. Test pumping is followed by a Recovery test for a further 24 hours or alternatively until the initial WRL has been reached (during which the rate of recovery to WRL is recorded). From the test pumping data analysis is done and the yield, rest level, pumping water level and borehole recharge rates estimated. Test pumping is an important process because from the yield estimation we can then decide the size and capacity of the pump to be installed for the borehole sustainability. The results of the test will help in determining the optimum rate, pump installation depth and the drawdown for a given discharge rate.

After drilling process and test pumping, we do installation of submersible pumps in boreholes and shallow wells. The sizing of the pump depends on the head required as per the depth drilled and the amount of water to be pumped from the aquifer. Pumping system contain the following;

Environmental impact assessment (EIA) is a requirement by NEMA before drilling a borehole in Kenya and other construction works. The EIA study is done to ascertain the environmental impacts of a project (both positive and negative) and guides in the development of mitigation measures for the negative impacts as well as monitoring of the borehole activities to prevent further impacts. We offer EIA services to all construction works for example; commercial and residential houses, petrol stations, water treatment plants, dams, go-downs etc. After submission of the EIA report to national environmental management authority (NEMA) we do a follow-up to ensure a permit is given to our client. With the NEMA and WRMA license borehole drilling can commence.

Environmental Audit is also a requirement used to assess the conditions of the borehole and the implementation of the mitigation measures put in place for borehole management. An Environmental Audit for project is done yearly and submitted to NEMA.
